Overview

The 2012 Lincoln Navigator is a rear- or four-wheel drive SUV available in Lincoln Navigator and Lincoln Navigator L models. Lincoln Navigator L is the longer-wheelbase model that accompanies the regular length Lincoln Navigator. The Lincoln Navigator gains some important features for 2012. The Voice-controlled Navigation System with HD Radio technology, SYNC and SIRIUS Travel Link is now standard equipment. The standard Trailer Sway Control joins AdvanceTrac with RSC (Roll Stability Control) delivers improved confidence while towing. The SYNC and SIRIUS Travel Link help the 2011 Lincoln Navigator owners stay connected using voice-activated technologies and with the standard MyKey is useful for them to limit top speed, radio volume even when they're not in the vehicle. There is also a complimentary maintenance for the first 12 months/15,000 miles in service.

Power and performance

Under the hood is a 5.4L 3-Valve flex fuel V8 engine that pumps out 310 horsepower and 365 lb-ft. of torque. The engine is matched to a six-speed automatic transmission. The buyers of Lincoln Navigator and Lincoln Navigator L can choose from rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive systems. The Lincoln Navigator can tow up to 9,000 pounds when properly equipped.

Body and styling

Standard and available 2011 Lincoln Navigator technology features include AM/FM single CD/MP3 player with audio input jack, premium AM/FM in-dash, six-CD/MP3 player with subwoofer and audio input jack, SYNC voice-activated communications and entertainment system, voice-activated navigation system with SIRIUS Travel Link, rear-seat DVD system, illuminated Entry with Approach Lamps, Perimeter Alarm. More than just hands-free calling, SYNC brings 911 Assist, Vehicle Health Reports, and Traffic, Directions & Information services to the Lincoln Navigator, all with a pre-paid three-year subscription included for the original vehicle owner (SYNC: Traffic, Directions & Information not available with the optional navigation system).

Safety Features

The standard and available 2012 Lincoln Navigator safety features include AdvanceTrac with RSC, Safety Canopy and side impact air bags, LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) system, Personal Safety System (safety belt pretensioners, load limiting retractors, dual stage front air bags, driver seat position sensor and crash severity sensor) and SOS Post-Crash Alert System.
